Founded in 1884, Bangor University has a long tradition of academic excellence and a strong focus on the student experience.
Over 10,000 students currently study at the University, with teaching staff based within fourteen Academic Schools. Bangor University has achieved a Gold Award, the highest rating possible, in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and is ranked in the top 40 in the UK for research according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 (excluding specialist institutions and single-submission universities). The REF recognised that more than three-quarters of Bangor’s research is either world-leading or internationally excellent, ahead of the average for UK universities. The University is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, between the mountains of Snowdonia and the shores of the Menai Strait – and road and rail links to Liverpool, Manchester, London and elsewhere are excellent.
The University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds. We therefore welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of sex, gender identity, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, trans identity, relationship status, religion or belief, caring responsibilities, or age. We promote and facilitate the use of the Welsh language through our progressive Welsh Language Policy. We comply with the Welsh Language Standards and are committed to equality of opportunity. You are welcome to apply for any job in English or Welsh and all applications submitted will be treated equally.
